Video Editor / Motion Designer

We’re looking for an eager-to-grow Video Editor / Motion Designer to join Smartly’s Creative Studio Team.

We combine creative production and ad buying automation with outstanding customer service to help some 700+ brands scale across Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Snapchat, and TikTok. We are a fast-growing community of more than 650 Smartlies with 17 offices around the world, managing nearly €3B in annual ad spend and growing rapidly and profitably.

Job Description is looking for an imaginative Video Editor / Motion Designer who can handle the everyday tasks of editing video and creating graphics and animation within our customers’ agreed guidelines. You have advanced skills in video editing, motion design, layout, typography, color and audio mixing. Your role will entail all aspects of the post-production process including, editing raw video, adding music and audio design, adding motion graphic elements, exporting in a range of sizes and formats. You will work within customer brand guidelines to ensure content is on brand and in the right tone of voice.  In addition, we are reinventing the way creative production is done by leveraging data and automation so as part of your responsibilities you will become well-versed in using the creative tools within the product suite.

Core Responsibilities

  • Join’s Creative Studio team that creates and runs social media advertising on behalf of top global advertisers.

  • Work with the Creative Studio’s Creative Director, Associate Creative Directors, and Art Directors to design content for social media advertising campaigns.

  • Use creativity, proactivity, and a problem-solving mindset to look for ways to create as many unique pieces of content from raw footage as possible.

  • Knowledge of social media advertising, particularly Facebook and Instagram, including all ad formats and placements

  • Ensure we adhere to creative best practices on social media.

  • Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and organization when it comes to file exports, versions, naming conventions, and delivery according to our specified process.

  • Learn the platform’s creative features (like templating) and leverage them in daily creative work.

  • Provide product feedback on the usability of the creative functionality in the platform.



  • Knowledge of editing, post-production (coloring/audio-mixing)

  • Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere Pro)

  • Meticulous organization of assets and projects.

  • Able to follow client’s brand guidelines

  • Multitask and meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Good team player and must come with a positive working attitude

  • Experience with performance marketing through social channels: Facebook, Instagram, Snap, TikTok

  • Knowledge in codecs, image types, resolutions, and frame rates.

  • Ability to creatively problem-solve and collaborate with other Creative Studio team members.

  • Strong verbal and specially written communication skills.

  • 3D (Cinema4D/Blender) with an interest in real-time 3D for mixed reality (Snap and Spark AR) an advantage



  • Guatemala City as a base and ability to work in a hybrid model (office/home)
